SHREYA
RAMAKRISHNAN
CHILDREN’S PICTURE
BOOK AUTHOR
ABOUT MEHi, I’m Shreya, a Bay Area mom of three boys, including a four-year-old with strong opinions about everything and an ever-growing rock collection that’s slowly taking over the house.
I’ve read hundreds of picture books over the years, both as a kid and now as a parent. The ones that stick with me are the ones that don’t talk down to children. They make you smile and they make you think, without being preachy or cheesy. Those are the kinds of stories I’m excited to tell.
I write books for the kid who negotiates ten things before breakfast, considers a coaster a perfectly good toy, and wants to know how you make the color white. Books for parents who just Googled how to make the color white.
I'm a first-generation Indian American who grew up speaking Hindi and visiting India often, all while enjoying 90s pop, hip hop, and sitcoms and studying the constitution. That shows up in my writing sometimes. So do rocks.
Currently, I’m polishing my debut manuscript and seeking representation.
